Homer's Odyssey is built to collect as little as possible. There's no account, no sign-up, and nothing to read behind a login. This page explains what that means in practice.
The short version
You can download Homer's Odyssey and read the entire epic without giving us your name, email, age, or location. Your reading progress and your collection live on your device. We don't sell your data, and we don't show you ads.
What the app stores
- Reading progress and your collection. Where you are in the voyage, the cards you've unlocked, and the quotes you've saved are stored on your device, plus optionally synced via Apple iCloud (iOS) or your Google account (Android) so you can pick up where you left off across your own devices.
- Anonymized usage analytics and crash reports. Which screens you open and which features you use, so we can make the app better, along with crash diagnostics. This data is not tied to your identity, and we don't collect personally identifiable information.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We don't show ads, so no advertising SDKs run in the app.
- We don't ask for an account, so we don't have your email to market to.
- We don't share your reading history with anyone.
Purchases
Any purchases you make in Homer's Odyssey are handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or full payment details — only the store's receipt confirming what you own, so the app can unlock it. We don't store payment information ourselves.
Children
The app is designed for general audiences age 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because the app doesn't ask for personal data and your reading progress lives on your device, there's usually nothing to delete on our side. Email [email protected] with any request and we'll help.
